Who can Supervise Your Insurance Policy When You Have Insurance Dispute in Thailand?
當您有保險糾紛,誰能監管您在泰國的保險?
Nowadays everyone must have insurance to deal with daily life. With insurance, when you get sick, you may have your insurance claimed, prepare for children’s education fund, and plan retired life. What would people do when there is insurance dispute and are not being treated fairly by the insurance company in Thailand? Apart from seeking lawyers’ help, the Office of Insurance Commission (“OIC”) is also an option.
保險已離開不了人們的生活。有了保險,當您生病時,就有機會申請保險理賠,準備孩子的教育基金,規劃退休生活。但當您在泰國遇到保險糾紛時,或受到不平等待遇時,除了尋找律師協助以外,請求泰國保險監理委員會辦公室(簡稱“OIC”)協助也是一個方法。
In Thailand, insurance companies and insurance business are regulated by OIC, which is an independent government organization established by Insurance Commission Act B.E. 2550 (A.D. 2007) (some people call it Insurance Business Regulation and Promotion Committee Act). OIC is supervised under the Thai Minister of Finance and is responsible for supervising and promoting insurance market in Thailand. It also assists insured customers to prevent any unfair treatment they may receive from its insurance company.
泰國的保險公司和保險業務皆由OIC監管,OIC是根據佛曆2550年(2007年)《泰國保險監理委員會法》建立的獨立政府組織(有人稱其為《泰國保險業務法和促進委員會法》)。 OIC是由泰國財政部管理,負責管理和促進泰國的保險市場,並幫助被保險人避免從保險公司得到任何不公平待遇。
On 7th April 2020, OIC has issued some guidelines regarding the method of offering for sale and issuing of insurance policies for those insurance brokers, agents and/or banks. Such contents include offering its sale channels via digital channels and such conversation must be recorded. The trading products and wording must be approved by OIC. In addition, when any potential customers wish to purchase such insurance product, full disclosure of information must be provided and recorded by insurance brokers, agents and/or bank for verification and confirmation. There will be cooling off period for such policy to be sent to its potential customers. Confirmation phone call must be made within seven (7) days. If such potential customers wish to cancel its policy, the insurance must refund the premium within thirty (30) days.
2020年4月7日OIC發布有關為保險經紀人、代理商和/或銀行提供銷售及發行保單方法的一些準則。其內容包含數位銷售管道及電話紀錄皆會保存。交易產品和用詞必須經過OIC認可。此外,當潛在客戶希望購買此類保險產品,保險經紀人、代理商和/或銀行須完全接露相關資訊並記錄下來,以進行驗證和確認。保單發給客戶時會有一段冷靜猶豫期,銷售人員需在7天內來電確認;如客戶希望取消保單,保險費需在30天內退還。
